How do we insure credit card transaction
safety?
Signing up with Ave Maria Singles is absolutely safe -- you
never have to worry about credit-card safety when you are
using our site. We guarantee that your membership transaction
is secure, encrypted and safe. If fraudulent charges are ever
made, you will not have to pay for them.*
We use the latest encryption technology to keep your personal
information safe. We use Secure Sockets Layering (SSL) Protocol,
one of the best means available to maintain safety and privacy
while on the Web. Credit-card transactions are handled by
a third-party financial institution, which receives the credit
card number and other personal identifying information only
to verify the credit card numbers and process transactions.
*In the rare event that unauthorized charges are made
to your credit card during a transaction with us, you will
not be held responsible in any way. Under federal law, your
bank cannot hold you liable for more than $50 of fraudulent
charges. If your bank does hold you liable for any of this
$50, Ave Maria Singles will cover the entire liability for
you, up to the full $50. Ave Maria Singles will cover this
liability only if the unauthorized use of your credit card
resulted through no fault of your own, on membership made
at Ave Maria Singles while using the secure server. In the
event of unauthorized use of your credit card, in order to
qualify for the Ave Maria Singles security guarantee, you
must undertake any steps required by federal law and your
credit card agreement, including any provision requiring you
to notify your credit card provider in accordance with its
reporting rules and procedures. If you have any questions
regarding federal laws, contact your state's attorney general
or the United States Department of the Treasury.

Are there special privacy concerns for European
Union citizens?
The European Union is mandating compliance with European Union
privacy initiatives for all companies doing business with
European Union citizens.
Our notice: While the European Union privacy initiatives
are noteworthy and will afford protection for European Union
citizens, the European Union cannot mandate compliance upon
companies that do not have physical offices in the European
Union. The privacy issues directly impact Internet commerce.
Internet commerce is extra-governmental by definition. The
responsibility for compliance with local laws and mandates
rests upon the individual participating in the Internet economy
and not with the company offering services via the Internet.
The participating individual, if he or she does not accept
the functionality and policies of the Internet commerce application,
can choose not to participate in the commerce.
Participation, however, assumes an acceptance of the rules
and regulations stated by or implied by the company sponsoring
the Internet application. As long as the company is adhering
to the sovereign laws within the immediate political entity
where the company is physically located, the company is in
full compliance with all necessary and applicable laws.
Since Ave Maria Singles is incorporated and located in the
United States, the legal directives of the United States are
the supreme law for this corporation (except when the United
States laws are in conflict with Divine Law in which case
Divine Law is supreme) and European Union laws are not applicable.
